We have an exciting career opportunity for a Site Operations Manager with one of our prominent clients' in the KwaZulu Natal Durban area. The selected candidate will be responsible for Ensuring profitable and cost effective operations of the site/s under his/her responsibility through maximum utilization of resources, effective management of contractors and continuous improvement in operations. Ensuring compliance with Company policies, procedures, client SLA’s and all applicable legislation. The incumbent will also be responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction and effective communication between departments such as Logistics and Sales. Adherence to all environmental responsibilities and relevant legislative requirements.

Minimun Requirements 

Matric with relevant Business or Technical Diploma will be advantageous. At least 3 years experience in waste management industry and good working knowledge of IR & SHEQ. Proven track record in managing or supervising staff essential. Code 08 drivers’ license.

Roles and Responsibilities 


  • Customer satisfaction & Compliance to SLA’s

  • Growth & Profitability of sites

  • Overall management and motivation of all staff

  • Administration and accuracy of account detail and reports

  • Ensure that all elements of the SHEQ integrated Management

  • System is implemented, communicated, maintained and entrenched in  all areas of responsibility


  • Customer satisfaction, such as supplying the client with monthly volume reports, handle all queries and complaints, maintenance of service level agreement

  • Manage the Supervisors and overall staff on the sites and also have replacement staff available staff or staff on leave.

  • Ensure that all staff is correctly trained for the site that they are working on and that training is signed for and processed.

  • Manage the cost of sales, i.e. profitability of each contract and financial management including budgeting and forecasting.

  • Assist the operational specification for costing & preparation of tenders & quotes

  • Manage contractors through the negotiation of rates and services i.e. service level agreements (signs service level agreements - not contract)

  • Training of staff as well as client education

  • Communication with the client as well as other departments within EnviroServ.

  • Ensure continual improvement at sites and look at more effective operational solutions

  • Ensure maximum separation of waste streams

  • Ensure efficient housekeeping at sites

  • Ensuring all admin is up to date and that month end financials are checked and all costs are accounted for in the correct month.

  • Take all necessary steps to facilitate and enhance conformance to the requirements of the SHEQ Integrated Management System.

  • Report on the performance of the SHEQ Integrated Management System to management for review.

  • Maintain all relevant certifications such as ISO14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO9000.
